This is an official Tazio Nuvolari Tortoise lapel pin.

It features "The Flying Mantuan's" famous tortoise logo with the letters TN on top of it.

Nuvolari was awarded the tortoise logo by Gabriele D'Annuzio who said "Nuvolari, you are the fastest man on earth, here you have the slowest animal on earth!".

Nuvolari would wear the tortoise logo wherever he could, always embroidered on his racing tunic and often even painted on the cars he raced.

Nuvolari achieved his greatest successes driving for Enzo Ferrari in the pre-WWII Scuderia Ferrari, racing mainly Alfa Romeo cars. He is by many considered to be the best driver of all time, beating Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna by FAR...
